Salt mine and Celts’ village

The source of Salzburg’s wealth was the salt that was mainly mined here at the Dürrnberg. Already the celts mined the »White Gold«, the mine was in use for several thousand years. Today it’s a mining museum that we enter with an electric train, then we slide on wooden slides deeper into the mountain. A boat brings us over a mystically lightened lake in the mine. An exciting tour for kids and adults!

Just aside is the Celtic village, a fantastic playground for children. You can explore everyday life in a celtic village and visit a every single building.

If that wasn’t enough yet, you can slide down the mountain on the »Keltenblitz«, a 2.2 km long summer toboggan.

* Entrance fees to the salt mine are not included in the guiding rates.
